A deeply rooted philosophy
Vignobles Silvio Denz’s estates across the winegrowing region of Bordeaux share the passion that drives their owner. Love for wine and respect for the prestige of the great terroirs inspire Silvio Denz to ensure that his properties work towards a sustainable future. He channels his enthusiasm and taste for excellence into the development of the vineyards, inspiring their constant commitment to responsible practices.
Vignobles Silvio Denz’s approach to winegrowing is natural, balanced and responsible, with a long-term perspective.
Today, the emphasis is on the winegrower’s decisions and tasks, based on observation, and in accordance with the natural rhythm of the seasons, the needs of the soil, the vines and the wine. This role cannot be fulfilled without a desire to question, discuss, recognize and share good practice.
Silvio Denz, Owner
‘‘People and respect for nature are at the heart of our initiatives to ensure sustainability for future generations and our planet. The visible and invisible effects of these responsible, environmentally friendly practices spur us on to further action and constant renewal of our commitment to nature.”
All properties have “High Environmental Value” level 3 certification (HEV3). We comply with essential environmental regulatory practices, adopt low-impact techniques, and are committed to assessment of our performance in terms of biodiversity and low inputs.
‘‘Real thought is given on a joint basis by the whole team to ensuring our practices are eco-friendly and sustainable.’’Vincent Cruège, Estate manager
Château Péby Faugères and Château Rocheyron have Organic Agriculture (AB) certification
Organic agriculture was the obvious choice for these two Saint-Emilion jewels, since it combines environmental best practice, respect for biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources. In the firm belief that organic practices are the future of winegrowing, we prioritize clean production methods that respect the ecosystem, protecting local flora and fauna.
We have set ourselves new objectives: in 2021 we joined the Bordeaux Cultivons Demain initiative, with a view to obtaining Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) certification. We are making structural changes to enable us to meet the various CSR criteria that will be the signature and collective strength of Bordeaux’s vineyards in the coming months.
